Our Mission
Our mission is to support learning among colleagues and the specialty of colon and rectal surgery in the region. For many years, the Northwest Society has been the sponsor of the NWSCRS Award for podium presentations made at the annual meeting of the American Society of Colon & Rectal Surgeons.
The members of the Northwest Society are keenly interested in issues of Medical Ethics. One of our benefactors generously supports our society with an annual grant for a lecture on this subject.
The Northwest Society is proud to announce that Mr. Kamangar supports the issues of ethics at the national ASCRS meeting. During the 2003 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Dr. Ira J. Kodner delivered the first NWSCRS Humanities in Surgery Lectureship titled: “Colon and Rectal Surgeons! Ethics! You Bet!”
