There’s no shortage of things to do at Seascape Beach Resort. KAYAKING AND HIKING

CARMEL BY THE SEA

Drive into Carmel for a half-day or a full day of leisure. Shop its charming stores, stroll along the fine white sand beaches or drive through its narrow English storybook houses. Carmel Mission is also an interesting and charming historical landmark.

A fun way to arrive is by driving 17 Mile Drive ($10 fee) - Entrance is in Pacific Grove.

17-Mile Drive at Pebble Beach

Discover Nature’s treasures as you explore the serene majesty of Del Monte Forest. Here you’ll quickly experience the magic of a legendary scenic tour that’s home to The Lone Cypress, Seal and Bird Rocks, Fanshell Beach, Point Joe, and the colliding currents of The Restless Sea.

You’ll see black cormorants, brown pelicans, California sea otters, harbor seals, and idle sea lions all in their natural habitat. Colorful native wildflowers dot the scene, adorning the cool, soothing hues of the seashore and carefully preserved dunescape.

WILDER RANCH

Located on Highway 1 just north of Santa Cruz, Wilder Ranch offers a variety of trails for riding and hiking, as well as a fascinating array of wildlife.

FUN FOR KIDS

CAMPSEASCAPE (A KIDS CLUB)

Go ahead and watch the waves – we’ll watch the kids. Our energetic, knowledgeable staffers treat young guests to exciting nature hikes, fireside storytelling, peewee tennis, sandcastle building, pizza parties, and of course, swimming. MISION SANTA CRUZ

The West Coast’s only major seaside amusement park, this popular playground features 28 rides, Neptune’s Kingdom miniature golf, the Casino Fun Center, laser tag, virtual reality games, restaurants and shopping. Open daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and weekends year round.

NISENE MARKS STATE PARK

Relaxing and very kid-friendly, this attractive park offers great hiking and mountain biking in the redwoods.

If you are longing for a tranquil spot to hike, run or ride your bike while meandering through a bit of local history, this is the place for you. The epicenter of the devastating 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake is a short hike from the entrance. There are still remnants of the logging industry also found within the park boundaries.

ROARING CAMP RAILROAD

Take an antique steam train ride through the redwoods and up steep mountain grades at Roaring Camp and the Santa Cruz Big Trees Railroad in Felton.
